Let’s Go Local: Artist Lambert Ho Tells – Nukulau, Other Favourites

Renowned artist, Lambert Ho says his art has allowed him to travel a lot.

He is based in Suva. Lambert is of Fijian-Chinese heritage and has been a creative force on the Fiji and the Pacific Art scene for three decades now.

His work includes fabric art for fashion shows, contemporary jewellery using natural local materials, visual art and decorations for Christmas and other special events.

Lautoka-born Lambert says he loves the western part of Viti Levu.

“I have travelled both locally and internationally through my art, exhibiting in more than ten countries. I love what I do, especially painting murals on public spaces for everyone to enjoy.”

 

Personal Favourite Holiday Spot:
“Definitely Nukulau Island.”

“I spend most of my weekends there with close friends and family.”

“It’s hard to believe you’re still in Suva because of how beautiful and peaceful it is there. At night you see so many stars and the night lights from Suva, it’s amazing.”

 

What’s One Place You’d Take Every Visitor To Fiji And Why?
“I’d take my visitors to Taveuni and Kadavu. It’s tranquility and brilliance of places that are naturally spectacular without any human interference is breathtaking.”

 

What’s Your Secret Backyard Favourite Spot?
“Any river in the jungle. It’s natural, peaceful and is usually where I get my inspirations and ideas for my creations from.”

 

What’s Your Favourite Place In Fiji For Tea And Coffee?
“I drink tea and home is it! With yummy fresh cream sponge cake and strawberries. Though when I go out it’s mostly places like the Suva Market where I can grab the best seafood.”

 

What’s One Fiji Spot On Top Of Your Bucket List?
“Rotuma and Lau.”
