Being in a leadership position is not new for Ratu Navula College head boy, Apimeleki Dawai Kadavu.

He has played similar roles at home because he is the eldest of 11 siblings.

The Nawaka native said starting from Year Nine, he had displayed to other students the kind of life he had been taught at home.

“I come from a Christian family background and my father is a pastor. I tried to live the kind of life that my parents had taught me at home,” he said. “I tried to set good examples in character and in academics.

“Starting from Year Nine, I have been doing that and I believe the teachers have recognised that leadership ability in me.

“The students are just like my 11 siblings. I will need to continue to set good examples and that will bring change to them.”

Kadavu’s younger sister, Ema Senatoga was also inducted as the deputy head girl of the school.

The Year 13 student was inducted last Friday and Siteri Saukuru was named head girl.

Sietri , 18, a Navoci Nadi native said it was a privilege for her to be chosen in that position.

“With more than 900 students in school I will do my best to commit to every responsibility entrusted to me,” she said.

Chief guest, the school manager, Maikeli Lalabalavu  told prefects they had significant responsibilities which they must set good standards for students to follow.
