The Kadavu women’s rugby players are human beings like us and they can be beaten.
That is the message from Macuata women’s rugby coach Motu Lalagavesi to her players as they prepare for tomorrow’s Royal Tea Ranadi Cup semi-final at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
“The Kadavu women have two legs, two hands like us and there’s nothing stopping us from beating them,” she said after being asked about Kadavu’s 60-0 thrashing against Tavua in the quarterfinal.
Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Lalagavesi said they are aware that members of the winning Navosa women’s rugby team from last year are now playing for Kadavu.
“My message to the Kadavu women’s side is that Macuata is not an easy team either. We’re coming over to Viti Levu to win and we’re leaving Labasa tonight for Sigatoka.”
Lalagavesi said they have taken on the challenge to beat Kadavu and make it to the Ranadi Cup final
“Our plan is to hold on to the ball, work together and keep scoring points. It can be done,” she added. The match kicks-off at 11am.
