Students of Muani Village School in Kadavu counted themselves lucky to witness yesterday’s Fiji Day parade at Buckhurst ground in Suva.
School head teacher Mitieli Nabati said the experience the students gained from the parade was an eye-opener for them.
“Many of these students are coming to Suva for the first time and this is a big exposure for them,” Mr Nabati said.
“This is also a way in which the students can gain knowledge better. These days they are just learning through textbooks and when we get them out to experience it firsthand they are able to understand it more clearly.”
Year four student Inoke Sorovi who was visiting Suva for the first time said he enjoyed watching the Fiji Day parade because it was also the first time he was able to see and witness the 21 gun salute.
