Kadavu on track for Promotion

Royal Tea Ranadi Cup winners Kadavu is on their way to next year’s ANZ Marama Championship.

The Vatiseva Cavuru-captained side has scored convincing wins in their promotion relegation matches.

Kadavu team manager Paulini Ratuwara said the players have given their all in every match they play.

“The girls know that they have to play their hearts out and remain focused on our game plan,” she said.

Kadavu coach, Etuate Nauro said the players have told them that they’ll try their best to win their remaining promotion relegation matches.

“The players are looking forward to the match against Cakaudrove and are eager to challenge them right to the final whistle,” he said.

On the same note, the Navosa women’s rugby side is going to play in next year’s Ranadi Cup competition after losing to Kadavu and Cakaudrove respectively.

Going into this weekend’s final round the battle on who will accompany Kadavu to the Marama Championship will be between Tailevu and Cakaudrove.

The Ana Seru-coached Cakaudrove side takes on Kadavu in what is expected to be a thriller following their 17-15 loss during the Ranadi Cup grand-final.

Despite losing 37-34 to Tailevu in the first round of competition, Cakaudrove bounced back to beat Navosa 38-14 last Saturday.

Seru said in an earlier interview that her players are starting to improve because they have been getting quality game time.

She highlighted the players have worked on their discipline and their ability to make the right decisions when under pressure.

On paper, Tailevu should have an easy game against Navosa but however on the day anything can happen.

Tailevu women’s coach Aisiki Saulala said they are committed to retain their spot in next year’s Marama Championship.
